One of the first video projects I did was a collaboration with James Prochnik. I asked James to create an animated snowstorm to accompany a short story of mine, Santa vs. Cowboy, that is set in a bar during a blizzard. You can see that piece here.
"Witness for the Prosecution" is a video made in the fall of 2013, in collaboration with Nicole Pierce, a choreographer and performance artist in Boston. In the video, I set out to write every bad thing I ever said to myself, and about myself, on my body. I ran out of room. What happened next was a surprise to me, the piece quickly veered off into uncharted territory as I let myself just act and react. It became a ritual of scarring and healing, and to me stands as proof that we are not all that far removed from a time when such rituals were a key part of our being.
